@JonahRay;
Yes it is. Sorry for my English.@Belassi;
I try with many thinks such as stick blender, milk frother, stick blender with whisk attachment… with low speed to very high speed. Results are same.@ozgirl;
Because in my country I can only access them as a raw material. I tried to create exactly with Ritamulse ratios (%60 Glyceryl stearate, %25 Cetearyl alcohol and %15 SSL) and added to oil phase. Result is not so different.I used stick blender, milk frother, blender with whisk attachment even driller with blender attachment. Low speed, medium speed, high speed…
The best result I got with milk frother.
I heat with bainmarie, mix to phase at 78-80 celcius degree, mix them at that temperature for 1-3 minutes and put the mixture in cold water bath. I continuously mix it, until cool to 28-30 celcius degree.
Yes I check ph. My final pH is 5.7-5.8
Weight of batch is 200 g.
If I re-heat the mixture, second result is thicker than first one and third one has a creamy viscosity.
I also think that every heating mixture lost of some water as due to evoparation. But I think it is not the problem because I lost only 1-1.2 g of water on the 200 g final product.
Thank you for your helps.

@Microformulation, dimethicone cover the lice body and plug their respiratory holes. So lices are drowning.
But if I remember correctly it can only use as hair lotion, not as shampoo. Because it must be sit on scalp 5-8 hours.

Hello;
In my country there is a anti-lice soap and shampoo which contain “camphor”. It is traditional treatment and it is very effective.It must be otc ingredients all over the world.

MemberJanuary 30, 2019 at 10:32 am in reply to: Need advise about emulsifying agent ratios@em88 thank you for your reply. Yes you’re right first formula has more w/o emulsifier glyceryl stearate.
In fact I copied emulsifying wax with name Ritamulse/Ecomulse/Naturemulse/Emulsimulse.
It’s INCI:
60% Glyceryl stearate
25% Cetearyl alcohol
15% Sodium stearoyl lactylateAnd this brands only for o/w emulsions. I don’t understand why they use that amount of Glyceryl stearate for o/w emulsifying wax?
Thank you.

@ngarayeva001 unfortunately I don’t have any access to PEG-100 stearate.
@MarkBroussard thank you for your comment. What is the sign of a soaping? Whitening effect on the skin?@Belassi I don’t have any access to silicones too.
In my country no one interest with prepare a cosmetics at home. Because of this cosmetic ingredients available for only professional use in a big quantity.
Anyway I noticed that 5% Sodium stearoyl lactylate drop ph too much. I prepare 5% suspension of it with water and checked the ph level. The pH meter says it is 2.5. I think this happened due to lactic acid/lactylate.
And according to Ritamulse formulating guidelines it says “Ritamulse should be used in products with an intended final pH of 5 - 7.5.”
Then I prepare experimental formula with adding KOH for buffer a ph drops due to SSL.Experimental Formula:
INCI:
Oil Phase:
8% Sweet Almond oil
2% Grapeseed oil
2% Shea Butter
2% Coconut butter
3% Glyceryl stearate
2% Cetearyl alcoholWater Phase:
3% Glycerine
5% Sodium stearoyl lactylate
0.3% Potassium hydroxide
72.7% WaterResult: Excellent. It emulsified within few minutes with nice cream viscosity. And final pH is 5.65.
My questions:
1- Is it normal to 5% sodium stearoyl lactylate drops pH to 2.5?2- Is it safe to use KOH in my formula? Is there any more suitable pH buffer for cosmetics?
Thank you.

Thank you for your reply @Belassi;
My total oil content is 14%.
How much SSL and GS I need to use? Btw I will add xanthan gum too. I already have it. Do you think that 0.3% is enough?Thank you again.

@ngarayeva001 thank you for your wonderful reply
First formulation (high viscous) is perfect for me. Tomorrow I will prepare and keep you informed about result.
Just for learning, I want to ask something
1-) Why we use both glyceryl monostearate and Polysorbate 80 together? Why we just calculate required HLB and not only use Polysorbate 80?
2-) Why we use EDTA?
3-) If we want to make too watery emulsion, is it possible to prepare emulsion without using cetyl and cetearyl alcohols?
Sorry for lots of questions and thank you again for formula:)

Thank you for your reply.
So I can’t use Polysorbate 80 instead of Polysorbate 60.
I am trying to prepare 10% castor oil/water emulsion.I can find;
Cetyl alcohol
Cetearyl alcohol 68/50
Glyceryl monostearate
Polysorbate 80
Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate
Can I prepare my castor oil/water emulsion with that chemicals.Thank you.

Sorry I have Polysorbate 80, not a Polysorbate 60.
Can I use Polysorbate 80 instead of Polysorbate 60?
