Many fatty acid types+ glycerin in a complete oil will reduce your foam and viscosity. That is my opinion.

Why are you avoiding sulphate?
-
With AOS and CAPB you can use NACL to increase viscosity.

Thanks
Do you know any patent with ≥1% citrate in shampoo?
Please share if you have
-
I also think that it will be for water softening but as it has EDTA and and 0.1-0.2% percentage of of it is enough to make the product water soft, what will be this high amount of citric acid doing.
It is highest after SLES.

I saw 1% citric acid in an example formula in one of their parents buy the patent was about something else.
I am wondering if it can be beneficial as a water softener and also to remove cation ions so if you apply a cationic surfactant conditioner after shampoo, it deposit more. What is your opinion on this?

Not experience on that

Instead of this you can buy phenoxyethanol and piroctone separately and mix them. This way it will cost much less.
I am doing this one
1% piroctone olamine
5% caprylhydroxamic acid
In phenoxyethanol
@ 1% use it has 100ppm PO and 500ppm CHA + 0.2% EDTA and pH below 5

Look for the source that who is telling you. If it is a chemist whose profession is making and testing a lot of products, then you can trust that he knows something. If it is from a YouTuber or shopkeeper then be sure they are not chemists, they haven’t made or tested any product.

If you can reduce pH to 4.5 or below, SB will work very well and it is inexpensive too.
IPBC is not very water soluble so dont forget to dissolve in first
-
You should have 0.1% in acid form and at pH 4.9 only 16% is in acid form. With 0.2% you will only have 0.03% preservative.
-
What is your pH?
Sodium benzoate is my most favorite anti fungal but i only make emulsions at pH 4-4.5.
I would increase it to 0.5% because it is inexpensive and very pH sensitive
-
Charge density not but viscosity is lower. or maybe because it is not hydrating properly or completely, that’s why viscosity is lower.
I think cationic guar is not hydrating properly. Why? This I don’t know.
Surprisingly on sample batch with this method is stable yet.
1%AMD micro emulsion mixed with 8%NACL 20% solution and 12% water, cationic guar 0.2%, lactic acid 0.05% ,20min mix, CAPB, EDTA, SLES.
14:2 SLES: CAPB active surfactants.
When i made another batch the same method it precipitated.
Any thoughts on why this one batch may have been stable?

It is not enough in my experience. I think it was 0.7 or 0.8% and pH 5-5.5.
You can try it. Make a 0.2% guar gum solution with 0.8% of this preservative and you will see.
-
In emulsion it is different, you have other types of thickeners too and they work in synergy.

Thanks
Some questions
1. What cationic guar do you use? The one i have purchased recently, supplier said
Our product LH-1470 can replace the product C13s from Tianci.
2. How much citric acid do you use and reduce the pH of cationic guar to what?
3. In what percentage of water do you mix your cationic guar?
4. Is your sodium coco sulfate in powder form?
5. How much sodium coco sulfate do you use, what is it initial pH and how much citric to reduce it’s pH.
I have SLS powder but it needs very high amount of citric acid to adjust it’s pH. Like 4% solid citric acid to reduce pH of 5% SLS powder to 5 and this increases its price a lot.

Made another batch with 20 min mix before adding acid and 20 minutes after. Still precipitated
