EntrepreneurFebruary 12, 2025 at 7:49 pm in reply to: Patent explanation about mixing method of GHPTC and silicone micro emulsionThanks
Patent also says after gelling at pH 6, readjust pH to 9 to recharge cationic deposition polymer.
Is it necessary to re adjust pH back to 9 to make coacervate more homogenous according to this patent?
What is recharging cationic guar?
What ways can we do it?

What i didn’t understand is the method.
should i mix cationic guar and silicone at pH 9 for 20 minutes then adjust pH to 6? Or first adjust pH to 6 then mix for 20 minutes?

Thanks
About residual NaOH, for 1.5% citric acid, 0.9% sodium hydroxide is needed to adjust pH to 7. Now if 2% of my SLS has 0.9% residual NaOH in it, it means active surfactant percentage is less than 55% in this SLS powder. Am i correct or still messing something?
2% of this SLS powder needs 1.5% citric acid to pH 7.
0.9% sodium hydroxide needs 1.5% citric acid to pH 7.

EntrepreneurFebruary 5, 2025 at 8:37 pm in reply to: Guess 1% line in this Pantene shampooCan you mention the patent!
I have seen two patents with 1% sodium citrate but non of them like this.
By the way, does SXS suspend silicone too like EGDS does or no effect on that?

EntrepreneurJanuary 28, 2025 at 7:59 pm in reply to: Will mix citric acid with CAPB neutralize it’s impurities like DMAPA and LAPDMA?Thanks. I currently add 0.3% citric acid to my shampoos. It reduces pH to ~4.5 when CAPB is present in water.<div>
Is this much citric acid enough to mix with water and CAPB and mix for some time, then add other ingredients and increase pH back to 6 or i should add more citric acid?
Also is heading the product necessary to neutralize impurities or cold mixing is enough?

EntrepreneurJanuary 27, 2025 at 8:06 am in reply to: Will mix citric acid with CAPB neutralize it’s impurities like DMAPA and LAPDMA?Also if i use cocamide methyl MEA as co surfactant for SLS: SLES instead of CAPB it feels milder and better scalp feel after hair is dried. I dont know if it is because of impurities in my CAPB or MEA reduces irritation of SLS: SLES more than CAPB .

They are either preserved with formalin or CMI MI.
What else coud be the reason?

EntrepreneurJanuary 27, 2025 at 5:15 am in reply to: Any help with Glyceryl Stearate (and) PEG-100 StearateThey don’t matter that much.
More emulsifier and more oil will give higher viscosity.
Start with 10% oil+ 3% emulsifier and see if you like it.

What if we don’t mix it at all after homogenization until temperature is down to 50°c?
Is it necessary to slow mix?
