Ingredients like SLS and parabens that have bad reputation are the best ingredients.

They have replaced SLS with SCI and parabens with other preservatives to look better in ingredients list. you can see their reviews, everyone says the previous formula with SLS and parabens was more gentle, better tolerated and much better than new formula.

CAPB is a skin irritant. But when it is combined with another skin irritant like SLS in specific ratios, they both become gentle.

Those allergens in lavender are allergen when used alone. But when those allergens are mixed with hundreds of other molecules in best ratios that they can have, wouldn’t it make a synergy and become not allergen?

Isn’t it like saying this shampoo has SLS and CAPB, as both are irritating the skin when used individually, this shampoo would be very irritating?

What do you mean by ”PE 9010, it was a disaster. ”?<div>

    <div>

Was it not dissolving in your product? Destabilizing your product or irritating the skin?

Is the product completely water based or emulsion?( Emulsion has oil too.)

PE 9010 is water soluble. Just heat the product and PE 9010 a little bit before mixing, premix it with glycerin or propylene glycol, use high shear or mix for a bit longer to dissolve it properly.

airless pump is very expensive. That is why no one uses it. You can improve your formula for protection. If no formaldehyde or CMI MI, then with your sodium benzoate, some phenoxy ethanol or Phenethyl alcohol+ may be some benzyl alcohol is very important for bacteria. You can also use glycols.

    60% glycerin?

You should write that what your product is. So we can see if we can do any help on that type of product.

Also, a review by a more experienced chemist would cost more.

I think deepseek answer is 5ppm STPP to 300ppm hardness. Not 1ppm hardness. This is why it confused me.

I do regularly check Cereve, Pacifica & The Ordinary for their New products and patents and can help in products with ingredients like these three companies.

I have experience in making emulsions (anionic, cationic & nonionic), hair conditioners, skin and hair cleansers and serums with actives like salicylic acid, niacinamide, AHA & hyaluronic acid.

I don’t have experience in sunscreen.

    Hi @LeonB

. My tanks and mixing equipments are all metal and SS. I have tried to but sodium hydroxide alone did damage my equipment in sample making with ~10 minutes contact time. So i want to avoid them for this reason. Maybe my method was wrong.

    . It is laundry liquid

. Don’t have any anti foam yet. I wanted to add some ≤0.5% cocamide DEA too. Of course it increases foam but also cleaning power.

. Don’t know about these ingredients

. Currently don’t have access to enzymes but can import them.

Of course SLS is stronger but 50:50 blend foam much better than 9:1 or just SLS. I don’t know about cleaning power though

    Surfactant is SLES.

    It is 4,5-Dichloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one.

    It also has

    Mg chloride 4-8%

    Mg nitrate 14-18%

For premix, isn’t isothiazolinones stable at 10% surfactant solution?

They say it has 14% CMI MI active at 3:1 ratio and also 0.009% DCMIT.

Is this spec ok for cosmetic use?

I would use only 3ppm active CMI MI in final product.

Also, as this 14% active is very concentrated, i want to make a blend if 10% SLES and 10% of this preservative to make it 1.4% active and then store it and use it for smaller batches or sample making. Is this method correct?

Time would be more depending on temperature, viscosity and homogenizer size. It would be much more than 2 minutes.

I dont count rpm, so lower is better. Maybe 100rpm
