Thanks a lot

Bill_Toge said:you’re best off using a dispersion rather than the dry powder; the powder needs to be milled very thoroughly to get the full depth of colour, and if you use a dispersion, the manufacturer will already have done the hard work
Thanks, I can’t understand your mean.
What’s dispersion procedure? Do we need a particular mean? -
ngarayeva001 said:Maybe the right solution is to stop relying on EWG? Seriously put EWG in search function of this forum and read what chemists say.
OK, Thanks, I want have safe products, only.

Bill_Toge said:how much iron oxide (which is Fe3O4, strictly speaking) are you using?believe me, if you put enough of it in you can make your mascara very black indeed
Hi
I use 16% of Black Fe and 3% Brown Fe and 1% yellow Fe in my formulation.
This color combination still did not provide me with the desired black. -

I have a question now, Do FeO containing mascaras have carbon black also?
Could they not have reported this? -
Abdullah said:Use it with another Preservative.
At that pH you may use it with Ethylhexylglycerin or caprylyl Glycol or Paraben or caprylhydroxamic acid.
I don’t know other preservatives that can be combined with phenoxyethanol and effective at high pH.Thanks a lot man.

I use From sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, 0.2% each of them. Is it enough?
That is clearly not enough. Those are not enough vs pseudomonads that can cause very serious eye infections. Please look at labels of major marketers e.g. Estee Lauder, Cover Girl
Hi
I don’t want use of Paraben derivatives.
Benzyl Alcohol is so Irritant.
Can you help me about this issue? -
ngarayeva001 said:1) All those oils aren’t necessary
2) Iron oxide won’t give you jet black color. You need carbon black
3) A bit preservative is a bad idea. You need to think through your preservation system very very carefully when it comes to anything that’s in close contact with eyes. Mascara is a product prone to contamination. Thanks a lot
Which oils aren’t necessary?
Is carbon black safe for use in cosmetics?
I use From sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate, 0.2% each of them. Is it enough? -
Bill_Toge said:if you mean “acrylates copolymer”, it’s used for waterproofing / volumising / smudging reductionthe most widely available polymers of this kind are the Daitosol series from Daito Kasei, which are designed for use in colour cosmetics
Thanks about your advice. Is diminished of ‘acrylates copolymer’ true?
I use of CMC instead it. -

You would also need a buffer for the urea since it will increase the pH as it causes pH drifting over time.
Hi, I made a toner and used urea in that. I have a problem with pH instability, I need help to form a urea buffer.
Can I use tetrasodium edta instead disodium edta? because I have other acidic ingredients and need increase pH and adjust it in 5 around.
thanks a lot
