  • Your opinion on favourite FRAGRANCE oils ????

Posted by Svemirska_baklava on September 17, 2021 at 11:10 pm

So basically everyone is always talking about fragrance free products, sensitive properties of fragrances on skin and in what percentage/how to use them in formulation, but…

What about your favourite fragrances that you use daily? Share some opinion and a list of 5 of your occasionaly used ones? I will start I guess.
    1) kashmere
    2) agave lime
    3) aqua di qio fragrance NG
    4) lemongrass with a little bit of eucalyptus
    5) vanilla (this thing is just phenomenal and sometimes really intreguing. I had a task to develop some products intended to men, and thought - Well, who in the world would love such a sweet smell like vanilla amongst man. Buy, boy I was surprised. Guys adore this stuff mixed with cinammon, kashmere, tobacco, spearmint… Ahh, such an interesting world).

Hehehe….that is almost mean…not telling us where one can buy them. :)

I am a fragrance fanatic….so I will toss out my go to fragrance… This simply means…the most people like it…and the fewest possible people…dislike it.

    Ginger and Lime….from Nurture Soap

another all around popular one…especially among Korean’s has surprisingly been:

    Balsam and Cedar…from Nature’s Fragrance.

One of my personal favorites …. but this will be a product…where maybe 30% of people will love it…mostly men:

Tobacco and Vanilla… from Bulk Apothecary…(a company I despise doing business with.)

    @RedCoast

Oh…and on the topic of vanilla fragrance…. Vanilla Lace…from New Directions Aromatics….is hypnotic!

I like to mix fragrance oils with essential oils - I think it really gives it that something special

I find a lot of fragrance oils I buy online are too heavy in musk for my preferences, and it can smell old-fashioned - does anyone else think so too?

    1) Green tea and lemongrass fragrance oil + lemon myrtle essential oil

    2) Chocolate fragrance oil + blood orange essential oil - it smells like a chocolate orange which is nice   :D

    3) Cold water from Bramble berry - smells like the classic Cool water

    4) Energy fragrance oil from Bramble berry - this reminds me of a Lush store

    5) Vanilla is always an easy option, I’ve yet to find a bad smelling vanilla fragrance oil (knock on wood)

@Graillotion Oh, I apologise, haha. Not trying to be mean or anything.
All the fragrances (apart from vanilla) are from Nature’s Garden. They sure know how to make a good fragrance.
Also, vanilla is from Fargon in Croatia. I redeemed myself, haha.
Also, I very much like tobacco. Just got it, man here love it apparently (Balkan). They are astonished. But you got ginger and lime as well… Works in the right proportion. Also, I have tobacco fragrance solely, so I will try it on 3:1 or 4:1 proportion with vanilla.
@Sincityfire I use essential oil mix with fragrance all the time. It really has something special to it. Essential oils are often to much intensive, so the fragrance oils keep that notch a little bit down while providing some stable smell. Also, on the other hand fragrance oil often lack that distinctiveness so essential oils help on that accord. Chocolate blood orange? Haha. Nice choice. Try some blood orange (neroli) with mentha lemongrass and vanilla as well. You will be amazed.

Neroli + Sandalwood + Geranium + Menthol. In the right proportions, nobody can resist this.

Vanilla + Musk + hints of nuts.

Ethylene Brassylate(Musky) + Grapefruit essential oil and a couple of top notes

Coconut cream + Lime essential oil

Ethylene Brassylate + Lemongrass essential oil - made this for a surface cleaner, unbelievable

@Cafe33 Where can I fint the supplier for ethylene brassylate? Would love to fint that stuff. Also, can you provide me the ratio for two smells you mentioned (the first and the last) in private message, I would love to find this.
    Try some:
eucalyptus eo. lemongrass eo. 2.2:1 and vanilla cinnamon eo. 3:1 and spearmint eo. vanilla 1.8:1. You would be surprised. Also Aqua Di Qio from NG supplier is the bomb.

Ventos sells fragrance chemicals and they will have almost anything. Sigma aldrich also sells fragrance chemicals, they have a “food production” catalog and you can buy smaller amounts in the 500-1000gram range and the prices are not ridiculous.

There are smaller online shops who sell hobby amounts, there is even an internet forum a lot of them advertise on.
