“Whitening” and “anti-aging” phrases in cosmetics/US
Is either or both “whitening” and “anti-aging” considered fine claims to make in cosmetics in the US without the need of additional government regulation or approval?
I see them used very often.
In some other countries, neither of these phrases can be used without additional government approval for each product. You have to submit documents regarding whitening and anti-aging aspects before you are allowed to use these phrases.
How is it in the US?
Are you allowed to use these phrases without some additional gov procedures,
similar to how you can use phrases like “moisturizing,” “improves smoothness,” and so on?
