  • White residue in the Cleansing foam, how to avoid this problem?

Posted by Chemistjoy on February 6, 2023 at 4:19 am

Hello, I made a natural cleansing foam with these ingredients:

    Aqua

    Hydrolate Citron

    Glycerin

    Sarconsinate

    Cocoglucoside

    Panthenol

    Alpha Arbutin

    Optiphen bd

    Citric acid

but in the bottom of the bottle there is like a white powder residue, what it could be please? NB the arbutin does not exceed 0.12% could be not dissolved? And which solution to avoid this problem.

    Thank you all.

It could be hydrolate reacting with some of the other ingredients into insoluble compound, which falls down to the bottom.

In any case you can exclude some ingredients and see if the residue occurs again. E.g. make the same formula, but without arbutin and observe. Or the same formula, but without hydrolate and observe

Thank you so much. I will do it and search the origin of the problem.
