  When to use vacuum pump during mixing

  So I just picked up a vacuum pump homogenizer for pilot batches, and I am trying to figure out when it’s best to use the vacuum.  During homogenizing? After? Is there a technique and best practice as to when to use to remove small air bubbles? Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
