I normally use UL as a starting point and reach out to supplier for specific ingredients.

and https://cosmetics.specialchem.com/ in addition to UL and knowde.

    Hi,

At specialchem I find some info ‘faster’ than at Prospector (ie. percentage of active - I don’t have to download a PDF)- but Prospector may have more info about the raw material. I use both of them, depends on the circumstances.

I really like Prospector. There I can always find technical information, INCI as well as starting formulas, so it always come in handy when I’m developing new formulas.

SpecialChem is nice too, but is more simple information (INCI, general ingredient description, concentration of actives, solubility).

I have up UL Prospector and covalo during my day, sometimes x-referencing at SpecialChem4Cosmetics. I must say Knowde was not impressive at first but they have improved the site recently plus I can easily access HI&I and CASE chemicals there when I need them since I delve into those formulation applications often.
