  • What is the problem in this Shampoo

    These Shampoos are good in every aspect but but after a few months it smell good in bottle but when we apply it to hair it smells  salty or as if we have added too much salt in it. 
    What would be the cause?

    SLES 70 %6
    Lauryl Glucoside %6 
    Cationic guar %0.2 
    Glyceryl oleate %0.5 
    Sodium phytate %0.1 
    Orange essential oil %0.3 
    Benzyl alcohol and DHA %1
    Water 
    Citric acid pH 5-5.5

    CAPB %17
    SLES %7 
    Lauryl Glucoside %2 
    Decyl glucoside %4 
    Cationic guar %0.2 
    Glyceryl oleate %0.5 
    Sodium phytate %0.1
    Benzyl alcohol and DHA %1 
    Orange essential oil 
    Water 
    Citric acid pH 5-5.5

    The preservative benzyl alcohol and DHA has 4 months left to there expiration date

    What does salt smell like to you?  It doesn’t smell like anything to me. 

    My guess is that your orange essential oil is chemically degrading.

    @Perry if you smell the salt from very close it has a weak but unique smell. Although these Shampoos don’t have salt, they smell like they have a lot of salt when you put them on scalp. 

    About orange essential oil degrading, what would be the problem? (This batch of oil, this supplier of oil or this oil and we should try another essential oil?)
