  • Vitamins in which phase?

Posted by Anonymous on November 25, 2015 at 2:24 am

    Hi there!

I would like to know which vitamins should I incorporate in which phase?

    1) Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid, powder form)
    2) Vitamin E (liquid form)

and when to incorporate them? Is it during heating phase or cooling phase or mixing phase?

    Thank you in advance!

Look them up on Wiikipedia, and see what they’re soluble in.

That partly depends on why you are including them in the formula.

Vitamin C won’t be actively stable so it doesn’t much matter when you incorporate it. It’s water soluble so put it in your water phase.
Vitamin E is oil soluble so put it in when you start your cooling phase.

Vitamin C degrades faster with increased temperature so if you want to use it, you should incorporate it after cool-down and then store the product under refrigeration. Even then it is unlikely to be active after several weeks.
