  • Viscosity lose from amodimethicone micro emulsion

    To make a some how economy shampoo with active <div>

    3% SLS

    7% SLES

    1.5% CAPB

    0.2% cationic guar

    0.5% amodimethicone in micro emulsion

    NACL

    i have viscosity problem.

    Without amodimethicone micro emulsion it has enough viscosity with 1% NACL but with amodimethicone micro emulsion viscosity is not enough even up to 3% NACL.

    Micro emulsion is amodimethicone % trideceth-12.

    What options do i have to increase viscosity or prevent viscosity drop without increasing total surfactants?

    </div>

    The emulsifier in your silicone microemulsion might be causing a rearrangement of your micellar system. You can use a rheology modifier to counteract this effect.

      Thanks

      Is there any method of adding this silicone emulsion to prevent this interaction ?

      By ”rheology modifier” you mean thickeners like hpmc, xanthan etc or cocamide MEA?
