Two moisturisers, one irritates eyes the other does not, which ingredient is causing it?
This one can irritate eyes if applied to close:
Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glycerin (preservative) Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride Cetyl alcohol, Isostearyl Isostearate, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Cetyl stearate, Stearic Acid Cholesterol Dimethicone Glycerin Glycolic Acid Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters Niacinamide Safflower Seed Oil Sclerotium Gum Tocopherol This one does not: Safflower Seed Oil Lauryl Laurate Behentrimonium Methosulfate (100%) Capric/Caprylic Triglycerides Dimethicone Cetyl Alcohol Stearic Acid Allantoin Water Bisabolol Tocopherol, Carthamus tinctorius (Safflower) Oil Azelaic Acid Glycerin Niacinamide Glycolic Acid Glucono Delta Lactone Any idea why? The emulsifier systems perhaps? Both have the same level of actives.

What is the pH of each one and percentage of BTMS?

Delete the Caprylhydroxamic Acid preservative from the one that does cause eye irrittion and you have probably found your culprit.

What is the preservative in second one and caprylhydroxamic acid percentage in first one?
