Suppliers for small quantities in Mexico
Posted by HAL49 on July 12, 2020 at 8:52 pmHi Everyone,I’m having a hard time finding a supplier of raw materials that sell in small quantities for prototyping and beta testingI’ve only be able to find one (Cosmotienda) but its portafolio is quite limited and it usually does not have stock of the useful onessomeone located in Mexico that could provide some recommendations of local suppliers or that have had successful experiences purchasing from international ones ?HAL49 replied 4 years, 5 months ago 5 Members · 16 Replies -

Have you ordered from Cosmotienda? Since the pandemic it has been constantly problematic. They have a good line up of products but some are poorly categorized. For example, they had hydrolyzed proteins in the fragrance sub -category.
Chemico.com.mx
They have many products Cosmotienda does not stock. But as you may know, dealing with these companies is very tiring since the website do not accurately portray what they have in stock or prices…ect.
They mainly carry food ingredients but they have many useful chemicals and I am sure they supply some of cosmotienda’s product line. You need to register with them with RFC as they will not sell to you otherwise.

Yes I have, and yeah I know what you mean, their categories are a mess, I just realize about the hydrolized proteins 😮Chemico does indeed have very good materials !! , do they sell in similar amounts as Cosmotienda ?Thanks so much Cafe33!!now this is where I really push my luck , by chance do you know distributors of Ashland products ?

The best used to be Conjunto Lar but it is all messed up these days.

Conjunto Lar is messy as Belassi says, very bad customer service. To be honest, even with all the problems you have to deal with, Cosmotienda has the best customer service. They will fix issues if needed. Also, double check multiple times that they have your proper address. They added a 0 to my address more than once and it was not delivered.
Chemico sells in 1kg presentations. They are reasonable. They also offer technical sheets very quickly.
I have an Ashland product coming in 22-23kg bags - Natrosol 250. I am using it to thicken some cleaning products. If that’s the product you are looking for let me know.

You can try contacting us, but we are a cosmetic ingredient manufacturer based in China and can offer a small number of samples for testing.

@ZleyHoldings Very nice of you to offer. Just one note: If sending anything to Mexico it should be via post, not via courier such as DHL or FEDEX. This is because of the onerous customs clearance problem. I’ve successfully ordered materials (eg. glycrrhizic acid) from China in small quantities (up to 5Kg) by post.

hola, yo tambien he estado buscando vendedores de quimicos a menudeo para hacer mis prototipos
Depends where you live, best one Ive found in NL: Chemico
also check out: conjunto lar, cientifica jalmek (mostly analytical grade but can work for prototypes)
also some companies are nice enough to give free samples

wow, !It’s so cool
Usually, we use DHL, Fedex and UPS as you mentioned. If the demand is high, we will choose container shipping. -

I will take a look at yout portafolio

There is an excellent vendor on Mercado libre. He also operates by whatsapp where his prices are much lower. I use him mainly for herbal and plant materials. His essential oils are great, some much better than cosmotienda’s.
I think he goes by Abreiko.

I wanted to add that Cedrosa is a good option for many hard to find items. They have Sodium Stearate in kg quanties for example. They have salts like Magnesium Oxide, Silicon Dioxide (81 pesos per kg). They also have many gums and a long list of oils.
