  • strong odor after using aquagel 45 as an emulsifier

hello, I was formulating an exfoliating cream using aquagel 45( Sodium Polyacrylate and C13-14 Isoparaffin and Laureth-7) as an emulsifier
Before adding the lactic acid , I mixed water phase ( aqua, EDTA, NaOH, glycerin, xanthan gum ) with oil phase ( jojoba oil and 3 % aquagel 45) a strong odor similar to smell of hydrogen peroxide ( used in hair dyes ) appeared.
is the smell normal ? or is there something wrong?
your help would be so much appreciated
