        Hello,

First of all, happy new year everyone.

I would like to ask you about cosmetic products (ie: massage oils) formulation using soybean oil (extraction method of the oil: extrusion-expulsion).

Is it possible to use this kind of oil for such purpose? And if so, what are the main requirements that should be provided to the oil (oil treatment, oil quality, percentage in formula, etc.).

I found out in litterature, that soybean oil is used as an emollient agent.

    Waiting for your feedback.

    Best Regards.

Soybean oil is a glyceride oil similar in compostion many other glycerides. You can use as a direct replacement for any of the common vegetable oils.

          Dear Mr. John,

    Thank you for your answer.

But I need more detailed information about the oil treatment.

Actually I work for a food company specializing in vegetable oils manufacturing.

Usually, we purchase crude oils and carry out the conventional refining steps (ie: degumming, neutralization, bleaching and deodorization) for food purposes.

In this case, what would the suitable method?

Does the crude oil need to be fully refined?

    Best Regards.

The oil will need refining to the same degree as is used for food or pharmaceutical grade oils.
