Hi. Im trying to formulate a shampoo in which I want to use lanolin. I have  anhydrous lanolin with me and it is a thick paste, dark yellow in colour. However, it does not dissolve and floats on top of water as a white creamy layer. How do I make it go into the solution? Please help.

You’ll need an emulsifier. Luckily, since you’re formulating a shampoo which uses surfactants (emulsifiers) to clean the hair and scalp, you should be able to incorporate the lanolin. Just make sure to heat your phases before mixing.
