  • Sodium silicate at pH 6-7?

    Hello everyone,

I have recently stumbled upon an anti-wrinkle formulation example from Croda containing Sodium Silicate. They recommend adding sodium silicate at 11% and then adjusting the pH of the mix to 6-7. Is this even possible? Sodium Silicate turns into the corresponding acid at pH 9.8 and loses its film-forming qualities. Can someone explain to me the logic behind this formulation?
