I see cetyl and stearyl alcohol so there’s some kind of emulsification, but I would not expect this to perform well

Seems like a standard conditioner formula to me.

@Vnnil It’s interesting you mentioned this since some users who buy this product mention that they just use conditioner instead of shampoo.

It is a conditioner. Although I would add that it is not without surfactants.
    These are all surfactants.

    Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine,
    Dicetyldimonium Chloride,
    Behentrimonium Methosulfate,
    Ceteareth-20

They aren’t particularly good at cleansing however.

What do you all think about a toothpaste without surfactant no foaming action?

@”Dr Catherine Pratt” - As a consumer, I don’t think I would believe a foamless toothpaste was working. I need that foam as a signal of efficacy.

I’d totally try it. I don’t like when the toothpaste foams too much

I need to find a ‘natural’ surfactant’ that foams even a tiny bit. I have tried so far:
sarcosinate, amphoacetate, which are supposed to be better than anything else besides the sulfates. Really because if the amount of salt in the formula it is not going to foam. Any ideas?

I think it is easier to boil soap nuts if you are chemophobic.

Perry you really do know your surfactants! and one client wants the foam and the other being a dentist doesn’t want the foam? Thoughts?

@”Dr Catherine Pratt” I tried this one: https://www.hyperbiotics.com/products/activated-charcoal-probiotic-toothpaste
It has no surfactants, but the problem wasn’t the lack of foam, it just has no density to it, so it ends up falling through the bristles instead of transferring onto the teeth.

@”Dr Catherine Pratt” :   Magnasweet, by Mafco. It’s Glycyrrhizic acid (from licorice root). “Google” it.

I have the formula down patin density, but I believe I know what to use now. Thank you for all your suggestions.
The dentist said to me he does not like the foam because you need to see the teeth becoming clean when you are brushing them and you can see what bits you are missing. When its really foamy you can’t?

Shikakai cleans perfectly, but can dry hair like any other herb.

Kalichem carries three olive based ones that seem to have a natural angle.  At my scale (teeny) the importing is the tricky part.  I tested two of them and I think the whole line foams.
The Hallstar OliveM line also had one.  https://www.hallstar.com/product/olivem-400/
