    Hey Guys,

I’m trying to create an easy fenugreek sulfate-free and paraben-free shampoo. I have made 3 attempts already, and none gives me the consistency I wanted. Below are the ingredients that I would like to use. Can you tell me what I need to add and remove to get a creamy, thick silky consistency like a store-bought Dove Shampoo? I want to market this shampoo in stores one day.

    Phase 1:

60gram Water (my water is from soaked Fenugreek Seeds that were removed).

    3g Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein

    1g Sodium Lactate

    2g Honey Quat

1g Guar Gum (mixed with Glycerine before adding to the water phase)

    Phase 2:

    50g Cacamidoprophl Betaine

    50g Decyl Glucoside

    3g SCI 85% Soaping Powder 3g

    Phase 3:

    3g Cetyl Alcohol

    1g Almond Oil

    Cool Down Phase:

    3g Euxyl PE 9010 (Preservative)

    3g D Panthenol

    3g Vitamin E

    2g Fragrance

Cetyl alcohol is used in shampoos to make a gel phase, but that requires to make a premix with water and surfactant, like Procter does. If you want to make something similar lile Dove, I’d advise you to check their ingredient list, and use it as a starting point. You can even search for the patent.

@sandra-burnett there are too many issues here to address in one post, perhaps try Plan B and start over taking this one at a time. Just for starters: Way too high solids in there. Which guar? Where’s the builder? What’s with all the oils? Why use glycerin?
