    Greetings,
First and foremost I have to thank you for this amazing forum! I’m gutted it’s taken me this long to find it and staggered by the breadth and depth of knowledge!
Alas, my lateness to this particular party does mean that I am more than likely repeating things that have been discussed before.
I had a hunt through some 30 + pages of each topic I was interested in though and still hope what I’m about to share would be useful.

I’m just starting out with cosmetics and am very much in a tinkering sort of phase and I’m a little surprised how unwilling to deal with small businesses a lot of places are.
I thought I would share with you the companies I have found and hope that helps folk in a similar boat.
It would be a massive help to me if anyone would be happy to add to this list, as there’s always so many tricky things to find.

(This list is one of suppliers who work in or ship to the UK - I’ve seen some stunning international ones that don’t deliver here but it’d be great if you’d like to add your favorite suppliers to the list)

    Raw Materials:

http://www.gracefruit.com - huge, cheap range with a focus on natural and naturally derived materials
They sell a wide range of raw materials (oils, waxes, surfactants, ceramides, proteins, clays, silicones and more or less anything else your heart desires. They work in ranges from 5grams to 5 litres and above and are always friendly to work with.
On top of this, they have a top notch fragrance and flavours section and some packaging!

Naturallythinking.co.uk - Standard chemicals at a nice price, packaging and more
Similar to Gracefruit, they have a good (but no where near as diverse) range of raw materials, a TON of pre-made bases and aromatherapy supplies!
They have a nicer range of bottles and tubes but what sets them apart is their cosmetic testing and training services! Phenominal prices for what you get!

https://www.newdirectionsuk.com/ - for the tougher to find bits
A great selection of products with some lesser known surfactants and other odder or harder to find ingredients.
A nice range of oils, and pre-made products again too.

http://www.aromantic.co.uk/ - a little pricey and self interested but with some real winners!
This supplier has a real gift for self promotion! All their recipes and formulas use only their products and they are listed in such a way that it takes a lot more digging to find their true contents than is nesecary. Handy if you don’t want total control over your formular as you can buy surfactant, vitamin, extract and other blends that you can add to their other pre-made bases etc.
But they do some nice colours, unique extracts, very well made home kits (for making a batch of soaps, lip balms gels) and their caramel flavour/scent is INCREDIBLE (I’ve drunk as much as I’ve put in products!)

http://www.oils4life.co.uk/ - Essential oils, vaprourisers and more
Cheap and varied essential oils, carrier oils and equipment for making reed diffusers and so on.

    Honarable mentions:
Ofasimplenature.webeden.co.uk - They are currently closed, but they have the cheapest range of honey products, unusual carrier/plant oils and a few other bits and bobs  - watch this space!

    Packaging:

    http://ampulla.co.uk/ - Min order : 1 container
They appear to have just updated their website so I’m not sure if there has been a product overhaul or just a new look site but..
They have pretty much everything you could ever want, reasonable prices (free to see without a quote) and quantities.

http://cascelloid.com/ and Dormex - Min order: 1 container
Wonderful products, great prices which are free to see without asking for a quote

    http://ideon.co.uk/ - min order: 1 container

http://richmondcontainers.com/  Min Order: 1 box (which can be 30, 175 or 400 bottles in that 1 box)
A little more pricey and higher minimum quantities but truly friendly staff (prices on quote request)

http://www.raepak.com/ Min order: 1 box for stock items, 5,000- 25,000 for non stock  (prices on quote request)

http://allinpackaging.co.uk/ Min order: 1 container from stock item.
HUGE range with both stock items and wholesale only items but clearly displayed prices for the most part

    https://www.ibottles.co.uk/home - min order; 1 container
Slightly more industrial / lab looking packaging

    http://roma.co.uk/ - min order: 5,000

    https://www.world-of-bottles.co.uk/ - min order: 1 container
These guys have a bigger glass range than plastic and I have to say I wasn’t sure about the quality of their plastic containers at all

    I hope that helps!
I can’t wait to see yours

I think this is a wonderful thing to do. Certainly for me in Mexico, discovering the appropriate sources and limitations has been a learning experience.

    Hello Gav,

This might be a little off from your topic but thought this might be helpful to someone.

If you or anyone else are in the market for high quality, great value filling machines :  Tube fillers, Bottle fillers, Jar and Vile fillers.
Please contact  Gustav Obermeyer in Plauen Germany.

They make great quality machines that really rival many of the other well know brands.

I’ve found Qosmedix (http://www.qosmedix.com/) to be a reliable source of both small and medium quantities of components, as well as a great source for things that you can’t get anywhere else (mascara brushes for cleaning in crevices, for example).

They ship internationally, but I don’t know how their prices will compare to an EU-based company.

Here is one, Grant Industries, New Jersey USA and a office in China. I’m not chemist or formulator but have seen these guys many times at trade shows.
    Nice, knowledgeable people.
