Hi Guys,  as you know i really only do hair products. Recently a buyer from a small chain has asked me for a Product Brief. I am at loss what should be in a product brief and what format it should be. Would they only want a testing protocol and actual test done on the product? Would it be actual labels or samples? Where could i even begin to look for such a template? Google only speak about marketing when I search there. Help Please

Well, hardly surprising, since that’s what a product brief concerns. PLEASE get someone with marketing experience to help.

Small chain requesting a product brief? That’s interesting..

a brief can vary but generally -

Product intro - general info about the product be simple

product objective - what is the purpose of the product?

Target Audience - IF you don’t know this, back up and find out.

USP (unique selling points)  what differentiates your product from the rest? WHY ARE YOU BETTER?

Promise - Spill your heart out..well not really. (Ex. This is my passion i’ve been doing this so and so years, I have invested a lot of time into creating so and so its the best stuff mannn)

Pricing - if you Don’t know then back up, and find out. *not required*

^^^ This. But it’s only the start. The fundamental thing to ask from the consumer’s POV is: “What’s in it for me?”
