  Preservative keeps recrystallising

  Hello everyone,

  I formulated a gel face wash and used Softfeel Eco + Pentylene Glycol as a preservative. However, no matter the pH (I tried 4.7 - 5.9) it keeps recrystallising. I know pH changes it’s solubility and the lower the pH, the less soluble it is but I thought at 5.9 it would work.

  Any idea how to avoid that?

  Doubt crystals are hex glycol. It’s used in biotech to crystallize protein and other macromolecules.

    The preservative contains Sodium Levulinate and Sodium Anisate, I think it might have to do with them.
