  • PRESERVATIVE FAILURE

    I have received a Preservative efficacy fail on my formulation.  The part that failed was on mold and I used Preservative; Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin at 1%.

    I have since read that this preservative is weak on the mold side. Has anyone had a fail using this preservative combo, and what did you use in its place.  My formulation has Stealth-2 and Polysorbate 80 as emulsifiers and Iam now confused on what to replace it with.

    Thanks in advance.

    @raiyana, thank you.

    Its very informative but I am even more confused now!  :confused:

    Does it mean I can add a small percent of Ethylhexylglycerin to the 1% Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin that am already using?
