Preservative efficacy testing is required by the FDA for drug products. Usually, PET involves USP <51>, but some cosmetics and drugs (like acne facial oil or fluoride mouth rinse as a possible example) might fall under low-risk products ISO 29621. In that case, what are some possible replacements? Would a use-study be adequate and if so, what is involved? I am not finding any articles about use-studies.
