Premium Powder/Liquid Foundation
I have collaborated with so many companies over the years in creating skin care and color cosmetics for many different brands. I normally deal with very very affordable products, and use a lot of affordable raw materials and “budget-friendly” ingredients.
It just sparked into my imagination and I’m now just wondering, if there is ever a client who will tell me that their budget is “sky is the limit” (which never happens), where the foundation (powder and/or liquid) will be sold under the luxury segment for $$$$ over the top prices, what sort of raw materials and ingredients will normally be used?
Will talc be used as filler for such products? Or maybe just pure Boron Nitride filler? (Which is unbelievably expensive!)
Just a fun way to bring out everyone’s imagination and knowledge of ingredients, should we ever come across such client!

“Sky is the limit” products just don’t exist on our side of the marketplace. It is only in the retail/consumer sector where there are attempts at such practices and this is entirely due to marketing. The contents of the cosmetic pots vary little from the bottom to the top of the market. OK, products may contain snake oil and fairy dust but the bulk of products are basically very limited.
All manufacturers are interested only in making a profit and the cheaper they can make their product and more expensive they can sell it the better they like it.
I am very surprised that, with all your experience, you still consider that manufacturers are some kind of benevolent uncle.

I agree and fully understand that “Sky is the Limit” budget really doesn’t exist, specially with my experience in reducing product costs and developing processes to increase manufacturing efficiency as my daily grind.
That is why this particular query is more of a fun way to bring out our imagination, creativity, and knowledge of ingredients SHOULD a client ask us for a product using only the best raw materials in the industry.
By the way, this line: “I am very surprised that, with all your experience, you still consider that manufacturers are some kind of benevolent uncle” is unnecessary.

If someone wants to bring out my “imagination, creativity, and knowledge of ingredients” then they must pay for it. I am not a benevolent uncle.
I think you are on to a loser here. In effect you are requesting freebie innovation.
