I tried using Polysorbate 20 as a facial cleanser. Used it neat (100%) and it was amazing in dissolving sebaceous filaments in one wash compared to using other surfactants. (10% ASM).

I googled any information if it was okay using it at 100% and as a facial cleanser. I couldn’t find any information and only found that it is only used for solubilizing fragrance oils.

Anyone here used it as a primary surfactant in facial cleansers? Thanks!

Suppliers do not recommend using more than 20%. Mix it with water, glycerin, and preservative and you will get a basic micellar water.
