    Hello,
I’m new at this cosmetic formulation world and I’m trying to develop an exfoliant shower gel. I’m using SLES/CAPB as the surfactant system and carbomer to suspend the exfoliating particles. When I thought I had a nice formula, I realized that the pH is not as stable as I would like - it dropped from 5.7 to 4.8 in 15 days. Is this normal? What should I do?
    Thank you in advance!

That might be a problem. Make a stability test, normal and accelerated and check how the pH changes overtime.

    Thank you, em88.
    Stability tests are ongoing.
I did a microbiology test (using a Dipslide Kit) and it’s clear.
What should be the cause of pH dropping?

What should be the cause of pH dropping?

It depends on the ingredients you are using.
Maybe a buffer can solve your issue.
