  • pH and viscosity changes in lotion- emulsifier choice?

    Hi,
Does anyone who has experience with Emulgade PL68/50 and Eumulgin SG in natural emulsions have the need to decrease the pH down from around 6.3-6.5 or is that an acceptable pH for a lotion (to also allow for pH drift)?

What are your acceptable pH levels for lotions?

When reducing the pH to 5-5.5 I notice a dramatic increase in viscosity. I know salt thickens via the anionic and it seems decreasing pH does the same.

    Thanks!
