PEG 90M Solubility
Hello,
I’m trying to make spider wax using PEG 90M.1) What kind of PEG 90M should I use?
The one that I’m using currently is in powder form (from a local vendor). Any suggested manufacturers like dow? I see that they have a polyox product.2) I tried dissolving 0.1% PEG 90M (powder) in 8% propanediol, but it did not dissolve.
Is there a specific procedure that I should follow for PEG 90M to dissolve in propanediol or should I change the solubilizer?(Sorry the supplier does not have much data regarding the same.)Thanks in advance3) Can I instead use glycerin or are there any better solubilizers for PEG 90M?

What a coincidence! I’m searching for PEG-90M (or PEG-180M) to develop a hair mask with spider web effect. Unfortunately is being kinda hard to get a sample or to find a distributor that sells it in a small quantity.Anyways, I never worked with it but I was talking with a colleague the other day and she was saying that she worked with PEG-180M one time. In the lab it worked out perfectly (she just sprinkled it in the surface of the medium in the end of the process and then mixed it), but in the manufacturing process (large scale) it wouldn’t ‘dissolve’ in the medium. She then found out (from other colleague lol) that the best way to incorporate it (when used in large scale) would be to pre-disperse PEG-180M in some oil and then add it in the medium. She did that and it worked out perfectly fine. So, i suggest that you should try the same thing with PEG-90M!Kind regards
