Anybody know a good alternative for Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil? Going to use it for mists and such. I have tried Symbiosolv XC (Caprylyl/Capryl Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides; Aqua; Fusel Wheat Bran/Straw Glycosides; Polyglyceryl-5 Oleate; Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate; Glyceryl Caprylate). But when used at 1% as recommended, the spray seems to foam when misted.

Is it hydtoalcoholic or just water based, because if it is water based then it is very difficult to avoid foaming. Even PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor oil would act likewise.

It is water based. What do you recommend to do instead of a pure water, extract and essential oil blend?

I have seen very few aqua based body splashes, if you add a little amount of ethanol denat., you can drastically cut down on solubilizer. It will reduce foaming and at the same time enhance the solubility of EO and fragrance. I read it somewhere once that ethanol is a wonderful antifoaming agent, and I tested and witnessed the same in my peel off mask.
