oil cleanser?
Posted by tinas on March 18, 2020 at 2:37 pmIs there any emuslifyer/soap I can melt into my sunflower oil so that it turns to “lotion” when I use water in my face to wash away the oil? It also has to thicken the oil to a very thick oil, salve

Thank you! But it needs so much glycerol that it draw moist out of my skin.

@tinas, isn’t it cleanser? How is it going to draw moist out of your skin when you don’t even leave it on your skin? Having said that, sucragel is hard to process.

You can use an emulsifier that is suitable for oil cleansers and also add an oil based thickener. For cleansing balms, they can use thickeners like Synthetic Wax, so you can consider that.

If you want a balm / paste consistency, use E-wax or Polawax. They are cheap and readily available. You can control the consistency of the final product by using cetearyl alcohol and stearic acid (use more for a paste, use less for a balm like product).
You can boost the rinse-off by adding polysorbate 80 (again, dirt cheap).I would start with 15-20% of the total lipophilic fraction (oil + fragrance + thickeners) and see how it feels from there. If you boost with polysorbate 80, take off the percentage from the emulsifier.
