need product (shampoo) to be PEG, Propylene Glycol and Paraben free; finished product = 5.5 – 6
EU regulations say can only use 0.02 IDBC
Would an appropriate preservative system be:
    1.0 Euxyl® PE 9010 (Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin)

    0.02 Glycacil L (Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate)

    0.2 EDTA

Can pentylene glycol be added or is it too similar chemically to propylene glycol.

    What is your formula?

PE 9010 and EDTA may be enough.

    No need for IPBC.

If you wanted to add another anti fungal, add sodium benzoate.

Shampoos are generally resistant to fungal contamination. But Abdullah is spot on - add benzoic acid as a booster vs bacteria - with surfactants its effective pKa is increased you’ll have an effect at that pH.

If phenoxy 0.3-0.5 and 0.25 Benzoate - with EDTA 0.1 as the acid

So we should use 0.15% tetrasodium EDTA to get 0.1% in acid form?

Whatever the math says. but that’s just the way I tried to get consistency - prob doesn’t make too much diff.
