    Hello,

As the title suggests, im experiencing some soaping in a serum i made. Would like suggestions on how to decrease this without changing the emulsifier, and without using silicones. This is the rough formula without actives. this is a reformulation and they are ok with adding and removing other ingredients.

    water 70%

    glycerin 5%

    xanthan gum 0.2%

    behenyl alcohol 2.5%

    cetiol oe 2%

    squalane 7%

    polyglyceryl-10 stearate 2.5%

    rosehip oil 2%

    Thanks!

You could gradually reduce your emulsifiee, rosehip oil and squalane to a point where you are comfortable with the amount of foam. Also, fix your manufacturing process to also reduce foam.

For soap effect may changing emulsifier can be solution or make combination with other one. In general the ratio between emulsifier/oil seems not good (low) even with the presence of xanthan gum.
