  • Natural Oil Thickener for Transparent System

    Hello,

I am developing a anhydrous formulation and I would like to use a thickener to increase the viscosity of the system. Does anyone knows a thickener able to thicken hydrocarbons (e.g. Dodecane), and esters in general, that is suitable for transparent systems? It also has to be natural or natural-derived (non-ethoxylated, etc).

I did a research and found ‘Oilkemia 5s polymer’ from Lubrizol, but I would like to know more options.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,

Dibutyl ethylhexanoyl glutamide and dibutyl lauroyl glutamide. However, they are only derived from more or less natural and petrochemical but somewhat natural identical ingredients though do not exist in nature. Likely a tad less synthetic than Oilkemia 5s and certainly better biodegradable but that’s about all.

Any problem using silica or aluminum or magnesium stearate? They thicken lipid systems and appear “elemental” on the label.
