  • Most Effective Antioxidants for Long-term Oxidation Mitigation of O/W Emulsions?

What are the most effective low odor antioxidants (bio-based derived from plant origin feedstocks) available to minimize the oxidation of O/W emulsion skin products over the long-term (for 18 - 24 months)?

Grape seed extract and vitamin E (tocopherol) have long served as tried and true antioxidants while bringing other skin benefits to skin products.  I know I can look up Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) values.  But I would like to know what works in the real world of cosmetic products.

What are other low odor/low scent antioxidants (preferably with additional benefits beyond protection from oxidation) that give skin products similar or even greater antioxidant protection than grape seed extract and vitamin E?

    Thanks!

You could try looking into extracts of green tea or rosemary.

BHT and BHA work at very low levels (0.2% or less), and have zero odour
