dear all, this is sarwa I have been a member of this forum for a while. I am a regular reader to this wonderful forum, however I will be obliged if someone gives me some heads up on where to start with marketing ,how to get to the stores and who to contact ,that sort of things

Frankly if you know nothing about marketing, bring someone in who does. Otherwise we’ll be here until 2018. Marketing in one country is very different from another. Basically it all comes down to this: the customer has to perceive themself as a winner. It’s all about “what’s in it for ME?” Marketing is a natural skill for me and I was very successful at doing it in the UK but in Mexico I have had to change all my tactics.
Look - one REALLY IMPORTANT thing. You MUST do market research and testing. You may be convinced that you have the most wonderful product in the world and everyone will rush to buy it. But I guarantee if you do not do market research and test marketing you will very likely lose huge amounts of money and your credibility too. -

how to get to the stores
1. Have you got a registered brand.
2. Are your products bar-coded
3. Are you willing to employ in-store demonstrators to promote sales
4. Are you able to give the stores 50% margin and still have 35% left
5. Do you have an advertising budget to spend on social marketing / billboard / radio / TV
6. Are your products price competitive even after considering items 4 and 5 (immediately rules out hair pomades, cheap shampoos, hand washes, hair gels, anything that you can find in a dollar store.) -
