  Makeup: 2014 State of Innovation

  According to their study (based on number of patents) most innovative companies of the world in the makeup field are:

  
  

  1 - L’oréal (French)

  
  

  2 -  Kao Corporation (Japanese)

  
  

  3 - AmorePacific (South Korean).

  
  

  Some companies which have extremely famous makeup brands around the world, like Estée Lauder (which has MAC, Clinique etc) even haven’t appeared on the list. So my conclusion is: good marketing can make your company sells more than good R & D - at least short therm.

  I don’t know about Kao’s colours, but their surfactants are great.
