Looking to develop a custom line of nail lacquer base and top coats
Hello everyone!
My name is Kad and I am in the research phases of creating my own line of nail lacquers. I have a suspension base that I am fond of, and have colorants, pigments and additives sorted.
What I would really like to do is get a custom line of base and top coats formulated for my line. To start I would like to develop 2 base coats, a sticky long wear base and a burnishing base. One custom top coat to start would be fine. I have a top coat that I really love, but I am not able to produce it in bulk. The formula for that would need to be reverse engineered from a sample and the ingredient list, and I’m not sure if that is even possible or how to look for those services.
I have been looking for a contract manufacturer, but of the very few I was able to find they either didn’t have formulas like the ones I was looking for, or wanted MOQs of 4x55gallon drums. Information seems scarce, and it seems like only a handful of places are offering this in the USA. So far the only 2 I have found that seemed decent and didn’t have outdated/defunct pages were Diamond Cosmetics and polycc. Diamond cosmetics didn’t have a formula close to what I need, and polycc has huge, cost prohibitive MOQs.
Does anyone here offer custom formulas or reverse engineering? Or point me in the direction of someone that can? I’m stuck. Any and all help would be very much appreciated!
