  • List of Active Compounds Isolated from Plant?

    Hi everyone,

Because of Perry and his accurate notion that many things are scams, I have also grown skeptical of extracts and how much of the claimed active compound a, say, 5% solution of the EXTRACT would carry. This lead me to think: where can I buy purified and synthetically-produced active compounds from plants? Triterpenes is an example, for skin irritation treatment and wound healing. I think this is almost indisputable (although I have grown to be careful of that word — again, thanks Perrry).

These are the beneficial active compounds that I know exist: flavanoids in a broad sense, azulene . . idk . .

Can anyone help me in listing some specific active compounds (like madecassic acid) or EGCG or a particular glucoside, idk, caffeic?

I would be grateful if you guys could list some active compounds that are relatively “unfamous”. I’m pretty sure we’re all aware of the usual EGCG, etc.

    Thank you!

To get “pure” compounds like the ones you are describing, I’d check a place like Sigma Aldrich.   And this aggregated site might help too.

    Buy pharmaceutical grade.
Get a book (or rather many) on phytochemistry and medicinal plants ;) .
