I am having issue with the Lactic acid during stability study. While running the HPLC method %LA tends to increase in the 40C sample (sometimes out of spec). Is this normal? Is there any other method to test for LA in a formula that has multiple acids?

the most likely explanation is that water is evaporating from the 40 °C sample over time, causing the percentage of lactic acid relative to the whole formula to increase
