  • Lactic acid & salicylic acid for warts and verrucas

    Hello,

As you may know already, most of topical formulations for the treatment of warts and verrucas have Salicylic acid and Lactic acid, where salicylic acid is around 10% while lactic acid is around 2-4%.
I was wondering if a topical formulation with 10% Lactic acid and 2% salicylic acid would be efficient for warts and verrucas too? What do you think?

    Thank you

The closed case I found is a study with glycolic acid and salicylic acid 2% where they mention it has effect for warts.
All three ingredients have keratolyic effect which is the main mechanism effect thought till now for warts.
The main problem I found with lactic acid is that is has the lowest keratolytic effect compared to the other two ingredients due to the fact it does not penetrate very well the skin.

I would go with glycolic and  SA for keratolytic effect so I agree.
