Agree, too harsh for skin use.
albeit sometimes I wonder if SLS is just as harsh, if not harsher than sulfonate.As a nice experiment, you can try neutralizing LABSA with Magnesium hydroxide and see if the resulting Magnesium sulfonate remains water soluble.
That would make it milder, like Magnesium laureth sulfate vs SLES. -
No!! LABSA is not recommended for personal care formulation.
Try this commercial formula;1. Water balance to 100
2. Glycerin 1
3. SLES 14
4. DEA 2
5. BETAINE 1
6. EDTA 0.2
7. SALT 4
8. Perfume & dye qs -
According to CIR you can use it if it is formulated to be non-irritating.Check with your supplier to determine if the grade of LABSA you have is suitable for personal care/cosmetic use.But as others have said there are other more suitable surfactants for a hand wash.
