Has anyone here tried Chinese print companies? Had good or bad experiences?

as with anything else from China, it’s a good idea to have a contingency plan in place, just in case the entire order gets f*cked up beyond repair
because if that does happen, you won’t be able to send it back; you’ll have to write it off and dispose of it yourself, and the manufacturer will take no responsibility for it whatsoever

I just had a quote of $83 per thousand, for a strip label, standard 60g cosmetic pot size. However, I can do better than that here in Mexico, I am pretty sure.

try onlineprinters.com They are in germany and they have great quality and price are amazing. But not sure if they have a lot of differents label models. I printed with them business cards and flyers and I am very pleased with the quality and service.

Thanks. I checked it out, it doesn’t appear that they do this kind of work. For the more upmarket labels I will have to have a two pass process; first the colour printing then the hot-foil transfer for the gold metal look.

Ok, I understand.
They have a lot of differents papers and materials (you can even order a catalog with all types of papers) and maybe you should check if some of the papers could be valid. If so, maybe your format it is not in the label section but you find other section that allows to use the paper you would like and later you can adapt it to your jar.For example: printing in A4 (where you can use most of available papers) an later just send them to a “paper store” to cut it in pieces in your desired format…We have solve a lot of problems adapting things to other purposes. Sometimes this type of “solutions” are even better as it could be even more economical and flexible.Just giving possible solutions. -

We use MacTac currently which is a plastic (not polyester) material just stretchy enough for our liking. One of the future choke points I foresee is putting labels on by hand. It is time consuming. And having seen what an automatic labelling machine looks like, well, huge, complex, expensive comes to mind. -
We use a semi-automatic process, and shrink-wrap labels.

Shrink is wonderful if you have the design skills.

Don you have a designer for the new brand? I do not know about shrink-wrap costs, but designers are really affordable now days and you can find really good quality-cost designs.
If you are quite limited in resources now, you could check fivver.com . If you search a little bit, it is a bargain for everything related to marketing -
Yes, I do, but designing shrink is incredibly special. I have a friend in the sports drinks market who knows a guy who does it.

Have you considered a semi-automatic labeling machine with your labels on rolls?
