  Lab Startup Costs/Equipment

  Hi all,

  I am in a position where an investor wants to help build out our own manufacturing lab (small scale to begin with). For the most part, I have not had to source the equipment, so I am hoping for some guidance! Does anyone have a document/link that summarizes all the essential supplies/equipment to start up a lab? And overall costs associated with it? I would love to hear from others as far as their “non-negotiables” when building out a lab, what batching/mixing equipment (names) you recommend, etc. This would be a small scale, to begin with - a few SKUs at around 1K quantity per SKU/batch and covering everything from simple solutions to complex emulsions. I appreciate any insight! Love this group.

  Costs? It depends on what you get. I think you could probably get a working lab for $1000 and a much better working lab for $5000. I doubt you’d have to spend much more than that.
