  • Kojie san and Lactic acid curdle?

I have been experimenting with different beauty products and ingredients to achieve even my skin color and eventually create a unique product for that purpose (several of my family members have the same issue). What works for me at the moment is Kojie san soap (65g) and lactic acid (hydroquinone irritates my skin and leaves darker patches) dissolved in water and later mixed with a lotion. It went well until this instance. In one cup of water, I dissolved 4g of the soap first. Once that was completed, I then added 4 tbsp of an 88% lactic acid liquid. The addition of the lactic acid immediately cause the soap in the solution to curdle into big orange (the soap is orange) chunks that floated to the top. I left it alone because I didn’t what else to do. The next morning, the junks turned into a small orange liquid/oil puddle that lined the container at the top. The water at the bottom had a yellow tint to it but I thought it was still just water. Nope. I tried to mix it with lotion and the new solution floated to the bottom. So this new solution is denser than distilled water. The only difference is the container( it was one of those disposable plastic cups) and the climate ( I moved to a hot but dry desert state). I did do due diligence and ensured the soap was authentic. What could have caused the reaction that occurred and what can I do with this new solution of water?
