    Hi,

Not a specialist, so my only comment is on the moringa and cucumber extracts: I’m pretty sure they don’t make a difference in your product (except for the increase in costs, and “bug”-food) so I’d lower them to 0.05-0.1%, just for claims.

If you want a very light conditioning product, then that’s ok. You don’t have enolients though, so combing won’t be as easy, especially when hair is wet.

Is this specifically an oil free formula? If not I’d remove the extracts which don’t do anything for hair and add a very small amount of lipid products. Also what are you using for actual conditioning, combability and detangling? I’m not familiar with all the ingredients. I created a leave in ‘conditioner’ that is oil free that makes hair super shiny and manageable, its my most prized recipe.

Yes made it oil free. As for the conditioning active, it’s all on centrimonium chloride and keratin

If its leave in, I always add artichoke extract. Maybe the chemists have more information on if its worth adding but the anti frizz effect seems to put its money where it’s mouth is. I can’t use it by itself to test and haven’t done testing but its from lotion crafters who have a lot of experts at their disposal.

Does it spray well with that much Polyquaternium-7 in it? If not you may want to reduce the PQ-7.

Hi! It does nit spray well and it took a lot of time before i realized it was polyquat 7 but I already removed it on my formulation. Thanks!

That looks like a like conditioning leave-on. If you want a more detangling one, you might try an emulsion like It’s a 10, which is one of the best in the market: https://incidecoder.com/products/its-a-10-silk-express-miracle-silk-leave-in-spray

Do you know why this is the best on the market? i want to formulate one for thin oily hair but many of the ingredients are barred for eczema and sensitive skin.

It’s one of the standards (you can go to Amazon and check the rating and comments). Now, when you mention that some of the ingredients can’t be used when you have some skin conditions, what is your source of information? did you check on the CIR or the Opinion from the SCCS for each ingredient to get to that conclusion? Please, don’t take it the wrong way…just want to know what are your sources since internet if full of sh….misinformation 🤓

    Hey Jonathan,

Your formulation looks like a great starting point for a lightweight leave-on conditioner! Removing Polyquaternium-7 for better sprayability was a smart move. If you’re looking to enhance conditioning and detangling, maybe a mild emollient or tweaking the active ingredients could help.
