Is this “mommy blogger lore” ?
The following quoted comments were posted in a Facebook formulating group, but is this “mommy blogger” lore? I have not experimented with w/o emulsions much yet, but I plan to. I personally don’t like pouring oil phase into water phase due to the fact they the oil phase solidifies quickly and a portion hardens onto the side of the vessel and so far I have never had an unstable emulsion
“For an O/W emulsion, you must pour the oil phase into the water phase. This is because the water phase is larger than the oil phase.
The only time you pour the water into the oil phase is if you are making a W/O emulsion “
Said commenter has previously advised both accurate and inaccurate information, and researching this particular topic has led me down a rabbit hole of conflicting advice.
