I want to use 0.75ppm MIT MCIT with 0.07% formalin in shampoo. This would equal to about 0.1% Lonzaserve PC. As this amount of MIT MCIT is too small i want to dilute the preservative that has 1.5% active with 19 parts water and 1 part preservative. This will give a solution of 750ppm MIT MCIT. I will then use this solution at 0.1% to get 0.75ppm MIT MCIT.

My question is: is it ok to dilute 1 part kathon cg with 19 parts water and store it in order to make it easier to use in small quantities?

No it is not.  MCIT of Kathon CG is stabilized in Mg salt solution - it is unstable in water dilution.

Please don’t get carried away with supplier claims of remarkable “synergy”.   Like the dubious “broad spectrum” - they’re marketing driven.

@PhilGeis so what is the difference when it is diluted in surfactant solution vs only water solution?

How is it stable in surfactant solution?

Typically is stable in surfactant solution.  Water solution is the problem.
